Our story
Many of you may have wondered how we got into this industry. It’s kind of an odd business to get into. I agree, this is an odd business. Who would have thought that there is such a thing as credit repair. To be honest, I didn’t know this was a thing until we needed it.
So let me take you back about 13 years where our story started.
My husband, Dominic and I were married 13 years ago. We blended into a very large family. I had 5 kids from my previous marriage and Dominic had 3 kids. We squeezed all 10 of us into my 1280 square foot home. We had 2 sets of bunk beds in one room. (we have 6 girls and 2 boys)
The boys were in a makeshift bedroom in the storage area, the other girls were in the other bedroom. And Dom and I were in the master bedroom. It was crowded!! And we were stuck because we both had bad credit from our divorces. Not to mention that Dom had to file bankruptcy in his previous marriage.
So, here we are!! Horrible credit, small house, and feeling hopeless.
We reached out for help from a guy we went to church with, who repaired credit. I was reluctant to talk to him because I thought “what if this is a scam”. But we did. We went to the meeting feeling deflated, hopeless, a little unsure if this would work, and with great apprehension.
The first thing they did was take a look at our credit report. He closely analyzed all the accounts that were reporting inaccurately and if we needed to build out our credit portfolio. He came up with a plan for us and we started right away. The first 30 days were really hard because we didn’t hear a thing. We finally got our first assessment. A few things were deleted, and our scores were slooooooowly creeping up. As we anticipated the results of our next assessment, hoping for a better report, it finally came. More accounts were deleted, and our scores continued to increase. By this time, we saw the light at the end of the tunnel. Month 3 goes by, a few more things were deleted, and our scores continue to increase. I was surprised at how long and slow the process really was. But we were told, “your reports did not get that way overnight and they do not get repaired overnight.” We patiently wait for month 4 to see the results of the assessment. (the process can take 4-6 months). It came with great news! We got the OK to start the lending process for a new home. Well, to say the least we were elated! Finally, the hard work and diligence on both parties paid off!! We did it!! We immediately started the process and decided that we could build a home. A year after the process, we moved into our dream home!
A few years later, as we were walking out of church, the owner approached us to tell us he was selling his business. We immediately knew that we needed to look into this. 3 years later, we bought the business, over COVID and on my birthday.
We are honored that we get to share our journey, knowledge, and walk with you, like we did 13 years ago.
There is hope and a way for anyone that struggles with poor credit. There is no shame in this. We all have made poor decisions, had job loss, medical problems, or maybe even a divorce. We know and we understand! I hope our story brings you hope and courage to take that first step to financial freedom!
